Secret Neighbor review
Secret Neighbor is a suspenseful social horror video game which is basically a multiplayer Hello Neighbor spin-off — with a lot more things to do, spots to explore, and items to find. In the game, a team of kids breaks into killer neighbor’s house to rescue their missing pal. The interesting part is that one of the kids plays the Neighbor himself.
Fun & Suspenseful
Yep, according to the latest reports, the ability to take on the role of the Neighbor was one of the biggest requests from the Hello Neighbor aficionados. As you can see, this request was successfully heard and fulfilled by the dev team behind the game. If you play the Neighbor, your ultimate goal is to catch all the kids without revealing your real identity.
The Secret Neighbor gameplay is pretty simple. Your (and other kids’) goal is to explore the Neighbor’s house in order to find the keys and sneak into the basement. While looking for the keys, you will enjoy collecting a variety of items that you can use against the Creep. Make sure you have a laser-like focus when looking for the keys because the traitor might be just around the corner waiting to kill you…
Great Multiplayer Experience to Enjoy with Friends
If you’ve played Hello Neighbor, Secret Neighbor is definitely going to look visually familiar to you. The top-quality cartoonish graphics and great music fit in perfectly with the game’s overall style. You may notice a few bugs when it comes to the Secret Neighbor graphics, but nothing too crazy. The game is up for grabs on Xbox One and Windows-based PCs.
In Secret Neighbor, it’s mostly up to you whether to stir up the game with fights or just enjoy exploring the map for a while. So far, the game features only one map. Even though it’s really fun to play without getting bored for a very long time, some players say they could use more maps to bolster their gaming experience.
If you’re into asymmetrical multiplayer-friendly suspenseful titles, Secret Neighbor is the best pick for you. While playing the game, the suspense will feel very realistic and goosebumps-inducing. As a matter of fact, the game’s top-notch soundtrack greatly contributes to that effect. Also, in Secret Neighbor, you will enjoy a lot of exploration — something to distract you from being scared all the time.
Furthermore, the Secret Neighbor community is great. Even if your friends are not up for playing the game with you, you will always find a decent company to enjoy it with. In other words, despite some insignificant disadvantages, Secret Neighbor is definitely worth your time — and the price it costs. The dev team behind the game does their best to always listen to the community and fulfill their most popular requests.
